How To Calculate Increment in ROPA 19
Calculate Increment with Pay Matrix
Any one can calculate the salary after normal increment in revised pay effected from 1st January 2020 without any Salary Calculator. Just you have to know the Basic Pay and Level of Pay before increment. If you have these two things you also can easily calculate the Basic Pay after increment with the help of ROPA 2019 Pay Matrix .
First, you need to find the Pay Level column in the pay matrix table within the range from Level 1 to Level 24. Now find out the Basic pay you have in the specific Level.
Starting from row number 1 in that particular column of Pay Level, you need to go down vertically one by one cell to search the present Basic in the Pay Matrix. As soon as you find the Basic Pay in that Level, the amount in the immediate next higher cell in the same column will be the Basic Pay after increment.
If there is no such higher cell in that particular Level of Pay that means you are drawing the Basic Pay of the last row of that Level. In this case no increment will be allowed.
If you still need a calculator, you can get one from the Play Store.
Calculate Increment without Pay Matrix
You can also calculate the Basic Pay after increment by multiplying the present Basic Pay with 1.03. The result must be rounded off to 100. If the last two digit of the result is below 50 then that should be substracted from the result to get rounded it to 100. Secondly, if the figure is 50 or above then the result should be raised to nearest 100. Let take an example.
Calculate Increment Example
Say, your present Basic Pay is 66400/-. After multiplying 66400 with 1.03 we got the result 68392. Now the result must be rounded off to 100. It means the last two figure of the result should be 00 (double Zero). in this case the last two figures is 92 (Ninety Two).
In this example the figure falls on second category. As 92 is more than 50, the result should be raised to nearest 100. That means 68392 should be raised to 68400 to make it rounded off to 100. Hence the new Basic Pay after increment will be 68400 in this case.
Calculate Increment Second Example
If present Basic is 55000/-, the result you can get is 56650, by multiplying 55000 with 1.03. Now, in this case the last two figure is 50 falls in second category. As discussed above if the figure is 50 or above the result should be raised to nearest 100. Hence in this case the result 56650 should be raised to 56700. That means the Basic Pay after increment will be 56700 in this case.
Calculate Increment another Example
Let assume the Basic Pay before increment is 27800. By multiplying the Basic with 1.03 you can get 28634. To round it off to 100, take the last two digit of the product. In this situation it is 34. It will fall on first category of the above discussion. 34 is less than 50. So, 34 should be substracted from the result to make the result rounded to 100. Hence, 28634 – 34, you will get 28600. As a result the Basic Pay after increment will be 28600 in this case.
